### Exploring the Frontier of Generative AI in Education

The rapid advancement of technology has transformed various aspects of our lives, and education is no exception. At the forefront of this transformation is generative artificial intelligence (GenAI), a tool that holds immense potential to reshape teaching and learning. The **ADVANCE Center**, in collaboration with the **Teaching and Learning Center** at West Virginia University (WVU), is tapping into this potential by hosting a **Generative AI in Teaching and Learning Community**. This initiative aims to foster awareness and understanding of generative AI’s ethical use and its impact on student creativity and critical thinking.

### Who Can Participate?

This community is an inclusive space designed for faculty, instructors, and graduate teaching assistants across all WVU campuses. If you’re interested in exploring the intersection of technology and education, this initiative is tailored for you. No prior experience with generative AI is necessary, making it accessible to everyone, regardless of their familiarity with the technology.

### What’s in Store for Participants?

The program runs from September through December, featuring a range of engaging activities. Participants can look forward to three workshops which can be attended virtually, face-to-face, or in a hybrid format. This flexibility ensures that everyone can engage in discussions and training sessions that best fit their schedules and preferred learning environments.

In addition to the workshops, weekly one-hour accountability sessions will help participants stay on track. These sessions are a fantastic opportunity for collaborative learning and discussion, allowing members to share insights, challenges, and strategies related to generative AI in their teaching practices.

### Tailored Support and Resources

One of the most valuable aspects of this initiative is the tailored feedback and support that participants will receive. Throughout the semester, educators will have access to resources and guidance that align with their specific needs and interests. A highlight of the program is the semester-long access to **Boodlebox.ai**, a GenAI platform specifically designed for education and workforce readiness. This resource will equip participants with the tools they need to harness the power of generative AI effectively in their teaching.

### Registration Details

If you’re ready to embark on this exciting journey, make sure to register by **August 27**. Participating in the Generative AI community could broaden your perspective on how technology can be ethically integrated into educational practices, while also enhancing your students’ capacity for critical thinking and creativity.
