The University of Central Florida (UCF) has recently launched an ambitious initiative: the Institute of Artificial Intelligence (IAI). This pioneering venture aims to solidify UCF’s role as a frontrunner in artificial intelligence research and education. UCF has successfully hired 11 faculty members and plans to recruit eight more in the upcoming fall, signaling a robust commitment to building a strong team. Notably, the Center for Research in Computer Vision is joining forces with the institute, indicating an investment in enhancing its capabilities.

Leading this innovative new entity is Mubarak Shah, the inaugural director and a distinguished faculty member in the field of computer science.
