Developers are utilizing generative AI for everything from background scores and sound effects to voiceovers and character dialogue through advanced text-to-speech tools. High-profile games like My Summer Car, Liar’s Bar, The Quinfall, and Inzoi exemplify this trend. My Summer Car, in particular, stands out, selling over 2.5 million copies while featuring AI-generated art, showcasing the potential for blended creativity through AI.

Nonetheless, Lambe observes that developers are becoming increasingly cautious in their wording when disclosing the use of AI. Many aim to reassure potential customers about AI’s role, perhaps due to concerns over user comfort with the technology.

Despite the impressive statistics, a significant blind spot remains in understanding consumer sentiment toward AI-assisted titles. Importantly, there’s no guarantee that all developers are disclosing their use of AI technologies, which complicates the picture further.
